i have decided to branch out and try something new. the world of opinion is quickly replacing the traditional news journalism that has dominated our american lives for the last 150 or so years. we now live in an era of pundits, commentators, blogs, and social networks, that, at times, are more reliable than the news that we have become so accustomed to. it has become more and more apparent that, rather you be a conservative or liberal, dem or republican, the news that we watch is drenched in bias and bigotry. the 'sacred oath' of journalism is all but lost in this new information age, with the powers that be trying to sway the masses with their flashy images, escapism, and pseudo realities.
given this (not so new) shortfall of modern journalism to report the important, relevant, and most importantly FACTUAL, events that are happening every day in our great Republic, i feel as though we THE PEOPLE of the United States, need to stand up and tell the world what WE see. basic accountability. that is what we need. i once heard a quote that is beginning to resonate in the back of my skull as i watch the news every day... 'who controls the past now, controls the future. who controls the present now, controls the past. who controls the past now, controls the future. who controls the present now?'. this is a question that begs answers that could fill the library of congress with all of the answers that could be given.
so now is our time, to band together, and let the history that is being made every day, be portrayed to those that will look back through the lens of time the way that it IS, not the way that the government, special interest group, or someone with enough money to buy history says that it SHOULD be. now is the time for IS. this IS what is going on... this IS what is going to happen... this IS the consequence to our actions...
this IS what i am going to attempt to do.
I enjoyed your comment. Keep it up. Why don't you advertise your blog on your Facebook page? Ma
